More than 2,000 years ago, deep inside a dense forest, stood a sacred place known as Siddharvanam. It was believed to be the home of great Siddhars who devoted their lives to meditation, wisdom, and spiritual power. The temple that stands there today is said to have been built upon this holy land.
The Great Siddhars
According to local tradition, the first and greatest Siddhars were Gangadharaswamy and Sadashivaswamy. They were revered as enlightened masters whose spiritual presence blessed the entire forest. It is also believed that four other Siddhars practiced meditation nearby, making the area a gathering place for six Siddhars.
